TROUT LIMITS

4-30-2016--Today's guests caught their limits of 15 trout and released some.  They also managed to catch one nice flounder. If you have been waiting to fish when the catching was good now is the time.  Our bays have filled up with both trout and redfish.  Weather and tide conditions make some days better for catching trout and other days better for redfish.

TOUGH CONDITIONS

2-23-2016--Weather and tide conditions made fishing tough today.  Tides were lower and movement ranged from none to a very slight rising tide.  Wind was very light from the northwest and moving to the northeast. Sun was bright and the moon had been full.   Even handicapped with the conditions my group managed to box 6 trout and 6 reds. The fish are there we just need better conditions to catch them.

 

REDFISH IN STORMY WEATHER

 

4-18-2016--Today's two guests limited on reds about 9 AM and went on to catch and release many more.  They also caught two nice trout.  Several of the reds were caught on soft plastics and top water lures.  We check out several locations and some had no fish but the ones that did seemed to have lots of hungry reds.  All morning there were storms both north and south of us.  Tides were very high and seemed to be about two feet above normal.  The fish were up close to shore and on humps where they couldn't get 2-3 days ago before the tides came up.  On the way back to the dock we ran into strong north headwinds and some rain.  Going 40 MPH into a 40 MPH headwind is like encountering an eighty MPH wind. We were glad to reach the dock.

REDFISH EVERYWHERE TODAY

4-16-2016--What a difference a day makes.  The tides were higher and the wind was up from yesterday.  Today's group got easy limits of redfish and released several bigger than the ones they kept. They also caught a 19 1/4 inch flounder.  With the wind so strong we only fished a short while for trout but got no bites.

TROUT DAY

4-15-2016--Today's group caught 11 trout but they really wanted black drum.

 We fished 15 separate spots looking for black drum and redfish with no takers.  Only fish that wanted to bite were trout.

2-8-2016--Clients caught easy limits of trout today.  We went to look for drum but found more trout.  Ended the day with 10 trout and 2 black drum.

MORE BLACK DRUM

4-7-2016--Three different sets of guests have limited on black drum the last three trips.  Water level is very low,  Keeper trout and reds have been hard to find.  Thanks goodness for good eating black drum,

4-4-2016--Today's guests caught easy limits of 5 to 7 pound black drum.
