REDFISH AND BLACK DRUM

2-21-2014--My two fishermen limited early on reds using white Gulp jerk shad and Gulp shrimp.  After catching and releasing a few we went for the oversized black drum.  Caught three black drum and then called it a day.

LUCK TRUMPS SKILL ANYTIME

2-15-2014--We moved 5 times without a single bite today.  For the sixth anchor I chose a location that had been good in cold, low water conditions in past years but had yielded nothing the last two times I fished there this year.  I told my guests that it was a long shot when we went there.  My four guests started catching immediately after I set the anchor.  They ended up with 6 redfish, 14 black drum and 1 sheepshead.  We were very lucky to have found this concentration of fish.

SAME SONG

2-4-2013--Two fishermen limited in 15 minutes again.  Fished the rest of the morning hoping to catch trout but they didn't cooperate.  Did catch and release several more reds in process. It was a little warmer today with less wind, 56 degree air temperature and 48 degree water temperature.  Again we  used white Gulp shrimp and jerk shad for bait.

GORGING REDFISH

2-3-2013--Strong north wind this morning.  Air temperature was a chilly 36 degrees with water temperature at 46 degrees.  Redfish were gorging on small minnows.  Picture is of the stomach contents of one of the reds.   All of them were equally full of bait.  It only took 15 minutes to limit out on reds ranging from 22 to 27 inches.
