REDFISH a'PLENTY

2-25-2013--Two fishermen wading with gulp, both shrimp and jerk shad patterns.  Limited on redfish before 8:00 am and went on to release over 20 more.  Also caught one nice trout and had one huge flounder get off at the rod tip.

VALENTINE'S DAY FISH

2-14-2013--Clients today were a father son duo from Oklahoma with lots of freshwater fishing experience but little exposure to saltwater fishing.  Fishing was great.  They started  the day by catching 7 or 8 oversized black drum with 4 being over 40 inches long.  After they were worn out from reeling in the black drum we went  for some fish to keep for the table.  They got limits of large sheepshead plus one sand trout and one 25" keeper black drum.

MORE BLACK DRUM

2-11-2013--Today my one customer went for over sized black drum first and caught seven (7) in a little over two (2) hours.  We used sea lice to catch the drum ranging in size from 33" to 41".  Next we went for redfish and caught a lot up to 19 1/2 inches.  That was OK because he wasn't keeping any fish anyway.  I'm liking this catch and release with no fish to clean.

BIG BLACK DRUM

2-3-2013--My friends have been catching the over sized black drum for several days now since they showed up early this year. .  Today was the first time I someone  interested in catching them.  We hung six in a little over two hours.  One broke off after the young fisherman tightened the drag too much and one much larger than any we caught pulled off about five feet from the boat,  The ones landed took from 5 to 15 minutes each to land because they were so strong.  If you want a heavy pull on the line this is it.  I expect catching these large black drum to last about 6 more weeks.
