MORE BIG DRUM
2-27-2015--Had three fishermen for a half day startling at 1:00 PM. We were faced with a cold north wind approaching 30 MPH. We pretty much had the bay to ourselves. After spending an unsuccessful 45 minutes we gave up fishing for redfish and concentrated on black drum. That worked very well as they ended up catching 9 over sized black drum up to 41 1/2 inches in length.

FLOUNDER
2-9-2-15--Had one guest for four hours today. Early morning was very foggy with a light north wind. We expected to catch redfish but the flounder fishing was so good we couldn't leave it. In one short wade in a back lake drain we caught over 25 founder with most being a little short to keep. My guest said he had never caught so many flounder. It has been many years since I had a flounder bite as good. The flounder would bite gulp jerk shad but after several failed to hang on we switched to gulp curly tail jigs which they seemed to relish. We were also successful in getting hook ups by cutting about an inch off the jerk shad to make them smaller.
