Three Days Fishing
August 6, 2009--Today was the last day of a great 3 day charter with the same couple. The wife stayed in today while the husband and I went to the surf. Caught his limit of redfish and half his limit of trout by 8:30. From then till 11:30 we only got sharks and lady fish. At 11:30 the trout turned on again and he quickly limited. We moved out to the wells for cobia. David caught 2 that didn't meet the minimum size requirement of 37 inches and had a large one pull the snap swivel apart. My fault for using snap swivels in the first place. Found birds working on the way back to the jetties and got into Spanish Mackerel. He caught a nice one on a skitterwalk. The two prior days we fished the upper Laguna with great success on trout and a few flounder. Looking back I see I haven't posted a report in 2 months. Things are slowing down a little now so hopefully I'll be more regular with reports. Most of my fishing for the last 2 months has been in the upper Laguna just south of Corpus Christi. Fishing there was excellent for several weeks but has now slowed some.
